William Mertz is the President and Founder of Corporate CFO Services, providing staff augmentation, outsourced accounting and business advisory services to small businesses throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. William focuses on establishing our client’s accounting processes, and works closely with management on establishing and implementing key strategic initiatives.
William has over 30 years of accounting and strategic consulting experience extending across numerous industries. Prior to founding Corporate CFO, William co-founded Watkins Consulting, Inc., a national consulting firm established to provide consulting and accounting services to the Resolution Trust Corporation. As CEO, William was responsible for the oversight of all large engagements including strategic planning, process improvement, financial investigations and complex litigation, forensic accounting, as well as real estate and project management engagements.
William earned a B.B.A. in Accounting from James Madison University.
Ed has over 25 years of experience providing accounting services, controllership and CFO services to a variety of small and medium sized companies in a variety of industries. In addition to his accounting background, Mr. Ramos has worked on large consulting engagements, such as performing an evaluation of internal controls within the Civil Division of the Department of Justice and audit work in connection with the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. He also recently concluded an extended role Directing Operations and Risk Management for a large diversified investment company.
Mr. Ramos earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the Villanova University School of Business, is a licensed CPA, is a Chartered Global Management Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Carla is a Senior Manager at Corporate CFO Services, responsible for managing and overseeing many of our outsourced accounting and special project engagements.
Carla has over 30 years of experience providing accounting and consulting services to small businesses in a variety of industries. Her experience includes extensive work in all facets of corporate accounting, establishing and implementing accounting procedures, software implementation, and financial reporting for executive management. She previously worked as a controller and manager for a regional certified accounting firm managing over 100 business and personal income tax returns.
Mrs. Robinson earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland, she is a licensed CPA, a member of the American institute of CPAs, and a certified Quickbooks Pro Advisor.
David Potter is a Senior Manager at Corporate CFO Services, responsible for managing and overseeing our outsourced accounting services for our construction contracting clients.
David has over 20 years of controllership experience, with a strong emphasis in the construction industry. His skills include cash management, budgeting, job costing, bonding, and financial statement preparation. David has also done client consultation to include accounting software implementation and support, internal controls and procedures, and financial statement review. Most recently David served as Senior Financial Analyst for a national non-profit company to develop and implement extensive budgeting and other financial services.
Mr. Potter earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University, is a licensed CPA, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Eileen Shifflett is an Accounting Manager at Corporate CFO, responsible for overseeing the processing of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable, as well as preparing the month-end financial statements. She is also responsible for Corporate CFO’s quality control, and development of our internal training programs.
Eileen is also a member of the Accounting Department at James Madison University. At James Madison, she is responsible for the ongoing design and implementation of the two-credit progression in Excel Training required for all students majoring in Accounting.
Eileen received both a B.B.A. in Accounting and an M.B.A. from James Madison University.
Billy Mertz is a Financial Analyst at Corporate CFO, responsible for providing all aspects of accounting services to the clients he oversees, including the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements, cash flow projections, and budget to actual financial analysis for the benefit of management. He also oversees the processing of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable, including customer invoicing.
Prior to coming to Corporate CFO, Billy spent two years coaching some of the country’s top junior tennis players in College Park, Maryland as well as Atlanta, Georgia. Billy was a four-year letterman on the University of Alabama Men’s Tennis Team, where he earned All-SEC honors.
Billy is a graduate of the University of Alabama.
Luke Higgins is an Accountant with Corporate CFO, responsible for managing all aspects of clients accounting including, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements. He also works closely with management to provide budgets, cash flow projections, and profitability analysis.
Prior to coming to Corporate CFO, Luke worked for a public accounting firm in Maryland. Luke gained experience from being on several audits, reviews and compilations. He also was responsible for preparing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations. Luke is a graduate from York College of Pennsylvania where he received a Bachelor of Science with a focus in accounting. At York College, Luke was a founding member of the Club Baseball program.
Kevin is a Staff Accountant with Corporate CFO, responsible for overseeing the processing of payrolls, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and preparing the month end financial statements. Kevin works closely with management to provide accurate and timely financial analysis, budgets, and cash flow projections. Kevin also assists with Corporate CFO’s social media presence and marketing.Kevin is a Staff Accountant with Corporate CFO, responsible for overseeing the processing of payrolls, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and preparing the month end financial statements. Prior to joining Corporate CFO, Kevin worked in the restaurant industry recently serving as General Manager for Looneys Pub in College Park, MD. Kevin’s management role provided him experience with payroll processing, accounts receivables, accounts payables, profitability analysis and monthly financial statements. Kevin is a graduate from University of Maryland, College Park where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Kevin is currently enrolled at University of Maryland, University College in a Bachelor of Science in Accounting program to fulfill requirements for the CPA examination.
Vickie Tobin is an Accounting Associate at Corporate CFO, responsible for client’s payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. She is also responsible for preparing bank reconciliations for all of our client’s cash accounts, enhancing segregation of duties.
Prior to joining Corporate CFO, Vickie worked as an Administrative Officer at U.S. Geological Survey, where her duties included tracking departmental expenditures and budget reconciliations.
Kelly Higgins is the Marketing Administrator of Corporate CFO Services. Her responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing our web and social media presence, organizing and overseeing effective PR and branding activities, driving accountability of marketing efforts, lead tracking/generation and defining, identifying and helping pursue targets.
